The Institute for Public Affairs – IVO (Inštitút pre verejnú politiku in Slovak) is an independent non-governmental organization of a think-tank character promoting the values of an open society and a democratic political culture in public policy and decision-making.

How can it help you

IVO focuses its activities mainly on research, surveys, analyses of various phenomena of social life and on a broad range of public policies. These include analyses of human rights policies and of the enforcement of the democratic rule of law, including mapping and analysing the views and opinions of the society and its various segments on these issues. For many years IVO has published concise reports on Slovakia (Global Report on the State of Society). These reports involved analyses of the situation of human rights, freedom of media, election law and procedures and election results, and assessments of the functioning of democratic institutions, including the fight against extremism and radicalism.
