The Centre for Community Organising – CKO (Centrum komunitného organizovania in Slovak) is a Slovakian independent NGO that promotes active participation of citizens in decision-making processes and in enforcement of their human rights.
How can it help you
CKO is helpful in building cohesive local communities in many places of Central Slovakia by promoting intercultural dialogue, providing programmes of integration of Roma communities in the mainstream local society and by fighting extremism, xenophobia and intolerance. Through its programme Schools for Democracy (Školy za demokraciu in Slovak) helps to introduce new effective approaches into teaching civics, history and ethics focusing on genuine human rights fundaments and critical thinking.
